Hunter S. Thompson: Never. Ever. Forget.

I discovered the good doctor after graduating from high school. Of course, it was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas that introduced me to the man himself. (I've since read it three times) I know everyone associates him with his drug/alcohol use, and that's fine. But having read nearly every book of his from his only novel, The Rum Diary, to Kingdom of Fear, his last published articles, he was a brilliant writer. Although I don't intend to pursue a journalism career or do mescaline, he, along with Fitzgerald, inspired me to write. So hat's off to you sir, gone six years! (Also, I know he died on the 20th, I'm a bit late.) H.S.T. Rest in pieces.
